Admitted as a Solicitor in Northern Ireland in 1999 and admitted as a Solicitor in the Republic of Ireland in 2003.

Education:

Queens University Belfast: LL.B (Hons), Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Certificate in Professional Legal Studies, Trinity College Dublin: Post-Graduate Diploma in Construction Law and Contract Administration, Law Society of Ireland: Diploma in Commercial Property.

Member of the Law Society of Northern Ireland, the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association and the Law Society of Ireland.

Malachy initially joined A&L Goodbody Solicitors Dublin then spent 4 years working for the Attorney General’s Office in Dublin where he advised the Chief State Solicitor on all commercial property and construction law aspects of the State’s property portfolio before moving back to private practice joining Arthur Cox Dublin. Malachy lectured extensively on landlord and tenant and commercial property for the Law Society of Ireland at Blackhall Place, Dublin and for CLT Ireland before joining John McKee & Son in April 2007.

Malachy has experience in all aspects of construction law and commercial property including development agreements, building agreements, collateral warranties, large commercial office and retail leases both for the landlord and tenant, the acquisition and disposal of commercial properties and development lands, licensing agreements, option agreements and also advises lending institutions on secured lending.

In his spare time, Malachy enjoys travel, eating out, playing football, cinema and reading.
