Creating, Protecting And Passing On Your Family Wealth
Tue 10th Aug 2010John McKee & Son Solicitors were delighted to join with Harbinson Mulholland Chartered Accountants in hosting a seminar at Malone House on 21st May 2010.
The event was well attended by over 50 clients of all ages from both firms.
Leonard Edgar, Senior Partner, John McKee & Son welcomed clients and introduced the first speaker, Graham Glover from HM Wealth Management LLP. Graham gave clients some top tips on how they could maximise their wealth in the current economic climate.
Alison Reid, Solicitor, John McKee & Son then spoke on what happens when you become incapable of managing your own affairs and the distinction between an Enduring Power of Attorney and Controllership. This provoked some thought amongst clients as to what would happen to them if unfortunately; they ever found themselves in this situation in the future.
Brendan McGuckin, Tax Partner, Harbinson Mulholland opened clients’ eyes to Inheritance Tax Planning and gave some practical thoughts on gifting to family members. Clients were keen to speak to Brendan after the event to gain some more knowledge of this area.
Gerard Small, Partner, John McKee & Son then spoke on the importance of making a Will and securing your family’s future. This was again a thought-provoking talk and many clients went home to give this some further consideration.
Jeremy Harbinson, Harbinson Mulholland then closed the seminar and clients were treated to a glass of wine and some canapés on a splendidly sunny May afternoon!
