Jill Annett

Jill graduated from the University of Oxford in June 2006 with Law Studies in Europe (French) Degree. Following a gap year during which she travelled extensively, Jill commenced her apprenticeship with John McKee & Son in September 2007. She graduated from the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in June 2009 with distinction and ranked second place in a year of over 120 students. She qualified as a Solicitor in September 2009.

Jill works in the Dispute Resolution and Debt Recovery Departments. She is involved in defence work on behalf of major insurance companies. Jill is also involved in plaintiff actions brought on behalf of private clients and in the resolution of disputes arising out of commercial agreements and contracts.

Within the Debt Recovery Department, Jill undertakes secured recoveries work on behalf of a number of high profile financial institutions.  Recently she has advised clients in a number of defended bridging loan repossession actions where innovative arguments regarding the Consumer Credit Act 2006 have been raised. Jill is also involved in unsecured recoveries work, bringing insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings on behalf of a number of clients.  Jill currently acts on behalf of a leading lending institution in the defence of unfair bank charge claims, all of which are currently being reviewed following the decision of the Supreme Court in November 2009.

Outside of work, Jill is a keen hockey, tennis and badminton player. She is heavily involved in Girlguiding UK and enjoys travelling.
