Profile

Patrice joined John McKee Solicitors in August 2010 as a paralegal, having completed her law degree at Trinity College Dublin. Patrice qualified as a solicitor in Northern Ireland in September 2013 and in the Republic of Ireland in November 2015.

Patrice is a member of the firm’s Banking, Restructuring and Insolvency and Commercial Property Teams.

Patrice has provided advise and represented banks and other lenders and financial institutions on many aspects of security documentation and banking law, to include taking security, preparation of facility letters, security reviews and reviewing facility letters, remediation and perfection of security and rectifying title issues, drafting of facility letters, review and preparation of certificates of title, preparation of legal opinions in respect of transactions and refinancing. Patrice assists partners in high profile NI, UK and Irish banks in every aspect of lending, borrowing and corporate finance and is experienced in dealing with lawyers in other jurisdictions relating to completion of banking and other transactions. Most recently, Patrice has been involved in loan sales and providing advices to Vendors with particular emphasis on assignability of facilities and security and the pre- and post-sale notices to Obligors and such other parties as are necessary.  Patrice has also assisted in preparation of debt reduction and settlement agreements.

Patrice also has particular interest in insolvency and regularly advises various lenders in respect of their options for enforcement pre-insolvency and takes appropriate action to appoint Fixed Charge Receivers and placing Companies into Administration and Administrative Receivership, and then acting for the Insolvency Practitioners and Receivers post-appointment. As well as managing and selling distressed property assets, Patrice has also received instructions from Administrators to recover assets which were the subject of a transaction at undervalue, has successfully contested challenges to the appointment of Administrators, and has made successful applications for Court approval of resignation of Administrators, directions applications and Court approval of distribution of prescribed parts.

Patrice also assists the partners in the provision of advises, taking security and enforcing security in respect of cross-border lending and assets located in the Republic of Ireland.

Patrice also has extensive experience in rectifying issues on title, selling distressed assets and in particular high value commercial properties as well as advising on residential and commercial tenancy agreements and leases.

Patrice has also gained experience of company matters to include initial incorporation, drafting corporate governance documentation, company filings, objecting to strike-off applications, restoration applications following dissolution, and winding up of companies.
