After graduating from the University of Dundee, Ruth trained with a Belfast firm where she gained extensive experience in all aspects of practice, ultimately developing a particular interest and expertise in property law.
Ruth has been a member of the Commercial Property Team at John McKee since she joined the firm in 2017 and works closely with Partner, Gerard Small, on a wide variety of real estate matters. She advises and represents both public and private sector clients in a range of transactions, including the acquisition and disposal of commercial property and development work. She acts for landlords and tenants in drafting and advising on commercial leases and licences. She also acts for developers in the sale of newly built properties within residential developments and for private clients in the sale and purchase of their own domestic dwellings. In addition, Ruth advises clients on boundary disputes, adverse possession and other property law issues.
In 2018, Ruth was involved in the client acquisition of a major fuel distribution business with multiple depot and office locations across Northern Ireland.
In her spare time, Ruth enjoys running and music and is a member of the Law Society’s Pro Bono Choir.
